Frequently Asked Questions about system built homes.
Q. How long will it take to build my home?
A. We can typically have a home dried in, locked and 80-90% of the living area completed within 8 weeks after drawing approval, then add approximately 2-3 months to finish. This is perfect for anyone using a 1031 Exchange Program.
Q. I like parts of some of the floor plans, but not everything. Can you customize your plans?
A. Absolutely! We have over 70 plans to choose from. Pick one that's close to what you want and sketch any changes you would like to make. We will then re-draw it to fit your needs.
Q. Do I need to hire an architect to draw my house plans?
A. No. After we send Nationwide Custom Homes our drawing, we will request preliminary drawings. After adjusting them as needed, they will draw 3 full sets of blueprints for your approval. This can save you hundreds, or even thousands of dollars.
Q. What about the quality of your homes?
A. Our homes are built at very high standard and quality for the following reasons:
They are built inside a factory where specifications and tolerances are continuously monitored. No exposure to outdoor elements occurs.
Hundreds of quality checks are made throughout the construction process by third party inspectors.
They are designed by professional engineers and can have up to 20% more lumber than stick built homes.
Q. Are these homes the same as mobile homes?
A. No! System built homes (sometimes known as "modular homes") are sometimes confused with "Mobile" or "Manufactured" homes. Mobile housing is built to an entirely different code and there is no comparison to our homes.
Q. How does pricing compare to stick built homes?
A. There are many factors in construction pricing. We have found we are typically about 15-20% less than stick built homes with the same amenities. Call and let us help you with a quote.
Q. I received only a total price from a different builder. There are some items that were included that I don't want. Can I choose the options I want in your homes?
A. Yes. Our homes are priced starting with a basic home package price, and you can pick any options you want or don't want. Each item is priced individually and in writing. Also, if you substitute an item, we will credit you for the existing option. You will know exactly how much you are going to pay for everything and we guarantee our prices.
Q. What about financing?
A. We have a number of banks and Mortgage Companies we can refer you to.
